Last year, Quizrr had its 10 year anniversary. When it comes to the social dimension of corporate responsiblity , 10 years almost counts as geological time. Quizrr began with a vision to help companies to improve the working conditions and livelihoods of workers in global supply chains through engaging worker technology solutions and gamified training on human rights.

Quizrr was established before the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were announced. Back then, corporate social responsibility was in its early stages. Since then we have seen emerging demands and regulations on the social responsibility and accountability of companies worldwide, peaking the last few years with new and stricter legislations coming into effect.

Complex supply chains are difficult to navigate, especially in regards to the people dimension. Many workers don't know their basic rights (and nor do their managers). This is a risk for the companies and for people involved in all parts of the value chain.  It’s Quizrr’s belief that when people are educated about their rights, they’re empowered to exercise them. Every day, human rights are violated, despite international and national rules concerning workers' rights and sustainability. Quizrr works to change that.

We don’t want to support just ‘a company’, we want to improve the whole industry.

Sofie Nordström

Founding Partner & Deputy CEO, Quizrr

One of our founders, Sofie Nordström, made the connection between human rights and business as a journalist investigating the supply chains of major fashion brands. She was intrigued by the ways in which companies could create real change and improve working conditions: by using their business leverage to push corporate social responsiblity, in the relation with their suppliers.

In Bangladesh, one of the major production hubs of clothes in the world, with more than 4 million people working in the RMG sector, companies sourcing there tried to find ways to address the prevalent risks in the industry.

“There was even an ambulating theater group visiting factories on assignment by H&M. An unconventional approach to infuse knowledge on employment rights, and safety – highly appreciated in a country where performance, music and drama is very popular.  However this way of working was not really scalable. I mean how many theatre groups are needed to reach all the workers? So the plays were turned into films. Short Bollywood style dramas on the most imminent labor risks.”

That’s when the idea of Quizrr was born. Combining relatable and engaging short films with quizzes in a gamified approach and on a digital platform would solve the issue of not only reach, scale and measurability, but also harmonization of key messages to prevent risk of human rights violations in global supply chains.

Fast forward 10 years, and Quizrr’s digital platform is being used by corporations and deep impact organizations throughout the world, to address some of the most imminent human righs risks – forced labor, gender inequality, harrassment, worker representation and worker voice. With growing partnerships and engagements Quizrr is not only training workers and managers in factories across the world, but also empowering people working in services, logistics and retail, and serving executives with knowledge on the expanded corporate responsibility set by new legislations. The S in the Environment Social Governance (ESG) and human rights is a must have.
